PJMS Learns about forgiveness at Breaking the Cycle Assembly

Breaking the Cycle at Port Jervis Middle School


September 16, 2016 - PJMS, Port Jervis, NY - The Port Jervis Middle School hosted the Breaking the Cycle assembly on Friday, September 16th.  Students and staff listened to four presenters as they shared their life stories as a way to help our students deal with many important life issues.

Breaking the Cycle is a proactive prevention program designed to resolve conflicts and easing tensions that linger afterward.  Breaking the Cycle assemblies feature several internationally known advocates for peace and reconciliation.
The Port Jervis Middle School has hosted the Breaking the Cycle Program for the past 4 years. 

Presenters at the 2016 Breaking the Cycle Program were Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois, Charles Williams, Hashim Garrett, and Randi Kelder.

Principal Jean Lain thanked the presenters from Breaking the Cycle. "We could tell by our students' undivided attention that you were touching their hearts! Thank you again for being an important tradition at PJMS."
