The Port Jervis football team struggles continued Saturday, October 8th, against Minisink Valley, losing 21-6.  This is the fifth straight loss for the Raiders.

The biggest reason for the Raiders loss? Turnovers…

Port coughed up the football with three interceptions and the two fumbles in the second half alone.  The turnovers got the better of the home team, costing the Raiders the game.

The Raider offense was less than stellar having just 19 yards in the first half and only 42 combined yards of in the second.

Port’s defense was slow to pick up speed giving up 21 points before halftime.  They regrouped in the second half, shutting out Minisink for the final 24 minutes.  The Raider defense and at times showed real promise, stopping a quality team like Minisink.

The Raiders head back into the into divisional play and must win the next two games to advance to the playoffs.
